Where and how to complain

I have established beyond doubt, in an incontestable way that Martin Armstrong is running a scam with his Socrates system and various other products and services. Here is what you can do (and perhaps should do).

Depending on whom you want to address,  here are the Martin Armstrong Inner Circle Details which includes company details, addresses, phone numbers etc..

File a SEC Complaint

at Investor Complaint Form

This is highly explosive. The reason for such a complaint is that despite all the disclaimers on his services and publications, Martin Armstrong is still barred by court order from association with a financial adviser. He appealed at the US Supreme Court against this and lost the appeal. And it does not help him that he is running his service offshore, either.

That court order (quoted from that document from his appeal) has the stated objective as follows:
Based on a consideration of the relevant factors, and all of the circumstances in this case,
we find that barring Armstrong from association with any investment adviser serves the public
interest and is remedial because, as discussed, it will protect the investing public from the
likelihood that Armstrong will commit future violations of the federal securities law.
That protection did not work very well.

Martin Armstrong has bypassed all this with his financial reports and especially his Socrates subscription service. For an example, in your complaint, you may refer to this page:

And it gets even more critical. His Socrates service has the obvious potential for illegal transactions that Martin Armstrong is unlikely to have missed. Illegal transactions in such a way that he most likely traded against a large number of his clients. I would not write that if not all my data that I have collected and analyzed for years would indicate that. This cannot be ignored especially in light of the fact that he published his financial advice (to sell gold at the price bottom) on his web site that has millions of hits per month.

Here is the Socrates result:

Socrates Long Term Past Performance Review

And here is the fundamental case that makes it crystal clear why Martin Armstrong should not be allowed to even run a service like Socrates (a page that you should quote in your complaint as a minimum):

Another example of financial advice given where he recommends to hoard cash in foreign currency:

In Canadians Beware he writes on Oct 14 2022 in his public blog: (emphasis added)
QUESTION: Martin If we are going to have a war is my money safe in my Canadian banks, or should I have some cash? Regards

ANSWER: Canadians should keep some US dollars in cash. Trudeau canceled high-value notes.
And you might want to quote the following pages as well where I prove that he uses an anonymous proxy who promotes his services and gives financial advice:

The Facebook Martin Armstrong and Socrates Traders Group and the The reddit Armstrong Economics Fan Forum

There is just too much evidence, too many lies. As expected from a complex scam like this.

Infiltrate Armstrong's Facebook Group and/or respond to Shills elsewhere

In my opinion, that Facebook group as described in The Facebook Martin Armstrong and Socrates Traders Group is illegal. I filed a complaint with Facebook's rather primitive tools and that complaint was rejected. It looks more effective to me now to become a member of this group and educate its members and make the life of its shills and dictators difficult. Knowing that the main shill in this group David Isham also runs a campaign on Twitter as David, it is also very effective to respond to his propaganda tweets such as Mim Saric did here.

Martin Armstrong has been exposed in internet forums using fake IDs. In these forums he still poses as a satisfied user and makes false claims about his services. I suggest you become a member of one of these forums and challenge him there. You need to explore the rules of these forums to avoid getting evicted.

Armstrong's last and strongest bastion seems to be The Free Republic where his user ID is delta7. Preferably, you challenge him when he posts verbatim copies of his blog pages and pats himself on the back. His articles can be found here: delta7 Articles posted in the Free Republic Forum.

Please note that he posts other articles as well to not be too obvious.

File an IC3 Complaint

The above is currently my 2nd preferred, or next lower priority option, after Martin Armstrong fully exposed the criminal nature of his business

In the details, you can refer to this site and the various relevant pages. It should be fairly easy now. I will perhaps add some details later to make it easier for you.

Complain at the MISES INSTITUTE

I do not know how this entity can claim any authority while hosting content of unrepentant convicted felon and violent scammer Martin Armstrong. However, some of his paid shills have discovered that this organization is the only one that I have not completely shredded on this site, and they are quoting his content there hoping that gives him credibility. I would suggest that you complain at their contact page:

MISES INSTITUTE CONTACT US

Their Armstrong content is:

Martin Armstrong: The Forecaster

where they are peddling the old lie:

Martin Armstrong is one of the most famous economic forecasters alive, but you wouldn’t know it after the whitewashing job he’s suffered at the hands of the federal government and the mainstream financial press
They have an Armstrong YouTube interview:

Apparently they seek to set themselves apart from the mainstream press by forging an alliance with a criminal.

Text (suggested):
Martin Armstrong is a convicted unrepentant felon who spent 11 years in jail for defrauding investors. Like most criminals, he thinks he is innocent. This video promotes this view which is a lie and misleads his clients.

Currently he is running a predatory business, a scam. It has been exposed here:
"Armstrong Economics - The Scam Business Model Exposé" https://armstrongecmscam.blogspot.com/p/armstrongeconomics-scam-business-model.html

Alert Publishers

Please contact BNN Bloomberg and ask them to remove their Martin Armstrong Interview videos from their site. This will perhaps not be successful because they are profiting from the scam.

Additional Information such as (which is what I reported):

Martin Armstrong https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Martin_A._Armstrong claims he is a forecaster, and he sells forecasts. He claims that he has a Global Artificial Intelligence Computer that he uses to make his forecasts. He reports numerous success stories with falsified forecasting performance. He projects different types of crises and sells expensive reports and conferences. He claims that consumers of his products survive the projected crises financially. He also sells a computer based trading system Socrates as a service for trading purposes with fraudulent performance claims. It clearly contains buy and sell signals although he writes in his fine print that it is for educational purposes only. He offers buy and sell advice in his subscription based blog. He claims that he has been the largest institutional and government advisor for decades. However most if not all of his performance claims are falsified. For example, no government has ever asked him for advice - instead the US government locked him up in prison for 11 years, and his recent petition was denied: https://certpool.com/dockets/19-392. The details of his scam are exposed at https://armstrongecmscam.blogspot.com/ which is a blog site. However it is organized and structured to some extent so it is easy to read. Further information can be found at https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1082909.new which is more difficult to read but contains more information. Martin Armstrong is a master of publishing his content and getting interviews from various affiliated alt-finance sites such as zerohedge.com, financialsense.com, bnnbloomberg.ca, dailymotion.com, fxstreet.com, marketsanity.com, omny.fm, peakprosperity.com, financialsurvivalnetwork.com, usawatchdog.com and others. Most recently, an affiliate even created a Coronavirus scam by creating a petition where Martin Armstrong is advertised as a government advisor to solve the crisis. See "Bring in the expert Martin Armstrong to stop the destruction of the world economy" https://petitions.whitehouse.gov/petition/bring-expert-martin-armstrong-stop-destruction-world-economy. He also sells an electronic book trying to profit from the crisis: "Coronavirus and Next Great Depression". I am suggesting that you read all pages of https://armstrongecmscam.blogspot.com/ That info I guess would be sufficient to create a court case against him. There is one overarching theme which is that he is barred from providing financial advice, and that his fine print on the product he sells states that it is for educational purposes only. However, he is continuously making public statements to the contrary selling his services as trading advice. There is proof of that on the quoted site. The other theme is that via the misrepresentation of the performance of his forecasting engine, he is misrepresenting the performance of his services in general because he claims that his services are driven by that engine. The misrepresentation has many manifestations, including the falsification of forecasting track records as documented on https://armstrongecmscam.blogspot.com/.

Everybody who has been defrauded should complain. One person complaining alone is not enough.

Additionally, you might want to talk to your bank. Since Armstrong Economics uses credit card transactions, a reverse charge might apply in case you can prove fraudulent misrepresentation. Reverse charges if done this way usually don't cost you anything - you just get your money back while the bank does all the work for you. The bank however has rules, such as you must supply emails in .eml file format that clearly indicate that you have been defrauded. I can tell you from experience where such a reverse charge was successful, as an example:

I subscribed to a service with a yearly payment schedule. After a year, I cancelled the service. I received an email confirming cancellation. A year later, my credit card was charged nevertheless. I complained to the service provider and asked for refund but did not get a response. I reported this to my bank. My bank reversed the charge after I provided the .eml file of the cancellation confirmation. It is as easy as that.

Here is a site that offers some hope, but in this case it is really more of an awareness campaign tool because Martin Armstrong will never give any refunds:

Ripoff Report

For example:

Complaint Review: Ask-Socrates.com / Martin Arthur Armstrong - Wilmington DE

Please consider including a link to this site.

Alert Payment Processors

And here is a more subtle aspect:

Armstrong Economics uses a credit card processor. This credit card processor wants to have good business, and does not want to deal with fraudsters where at some point that credit card processor might find itself holding the bag. So you might find a way to convince this credit card processor to re-consider its business relationship with Armstrong Economics.
